Berner Johnson, aged 48, was assaulted on May 15, 2019, at approximately 11:36 p.m. in the 100 block of K Street, Southeast, Washington, D.C. The altercation occurred outside a bar in the Navy Yard area, near Johnson's home. He was found by responding officers suffering from severe injuries consistent with an assault and was immediately transported to a hospital.
