In the late summer afternoon of Wednesday, August 28, 2024, a burst of violence shattered the quiet of a Northeast Washington, D.C. neighborhood. At approximately 3:15 p.m., in the 3200 block of 9th Street, NE, gunshots rang out, leaving a man lying unconscious on the street. When officers from the Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene, they found the victim unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
