On July 18, 2015, at approximately 1:43 a.m., Charles Douglas, a 33-year-old resident of District Heights, Maryland, was fatally shot in the 1300 block of Riggs Street NW in Washington, D.C. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to reports of gunfire and discovered Douglas suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
