In the early morning hours of June 22, 2022, a sense of normalcy was shattered in the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue, SE, in Washington, D.C. It was there, at approximately 1:11 a.m., that 36-year-old Vernon Vedo Harrison, a Black male, was standing at a bus stop when his life was tragically cut short.
