In the spring of 2014, a tragic event unfolded in Southeast Washington, D.C., forever altering the lives of one family. On the evening of Friday, March 14, 2014, police responded to a report of a shooting in the unit block of 46th Street, Southeast. Upon arrival, they discovered a man inside a vehicle, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as 30-year-old Delonte Jackson, a Black male from Southeast, D.C.
