In the pre-dawn hours of December 26, 2023, Tyvez Monroe, a 27-year-old male, was fatally shot while sitting at a bus stop in Washington, D.C. The incident occurred around 4:25 a.m. in the 600 block of Maryland Avenue SW, near the L'Enfant Plaza Metro station. Surveillance footage from the scene captured a man approaching Monroe.
