On July 15, 2016, Jerimi Meade, aged 29, was found dead in the 400 block of Burbank Street, SE, Washington, D.C. A park employee, who was investigating illegal dumping, discovered Meade's body buried under leaves and covered by a wooden board in a wooded area at the back of the property. The initial assessment by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner revealed that Meade died from blunt force trauma to the head and brain.
