On a summer afternoon in Washington, D.C., the grim discovery of a body shattered the quiet of a wooded area. It was around 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2016, when a Park Service employee, investigating a complaint of illegal dumping in the 400 block of Burbank Street SE, stumbled upon the remains of 29-year-old Jerimi Stephan Meade. Authorities who responded to the scene found Meade with no signs of life, having sustained apparent blunt force injuries.
