Murdered

On April 21, 2016, Matthew Smith, aged 34, was shot and killed in the 1600 block of 16th Street, Southeast, Washington, D.C. The incident occurred early in the morning at approximately 1:27 a.m. Police responding to reports of gunshots discovered Smith suffering from critical injuries. He was transported to a local hospital, but despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. His death marked the 32nd homicide in Washington, D.C. for that year.
