In the late morning of September 11, 2024, the life of 20-year-old Korey Kyanyeh Glasker, a Black male from Washington, D.C., was tragically cut short. At approximately 10:06 a.m., Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to a residence in the 3700 block of Alabama Avenue, Southeast, following a report of a shooting. Inside the home, they discovered Glasker suffering from gunshot wounds.
Despite the immediate response and efforts of emergency medical personnel, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the homicide led authorities to identify a suspect. Through their investigation, which included the review of surveillance footage showing a man with a firearm on the porch of the residence where Glasker was found, police zeroed in on an individual. This person was identified by one of Glasker's parents as a 'family friend' who may have been involved in selling marijuana for Glasker.
On Sunday, March 9, 2025, authorities located and arrested 36-year-old Korin Agnew during a traffic stop. Agnew was taken into custody pursuant to a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant and was subsequently charged with First Degree Murder while Armed. Court proceedings against Agnew began, and in August 2025, he rejected a plea deal that would have required him to plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter while armed and possession of a firearm during a crime of violence. By rejecting the plea, Agnew opted to proceed to trial.
