On a late spring evening in Washington, D.C., violence shattered the night on the 2700 block of Langston Place SE. On Friday, June 16, 2017, at approximately 10:43 p.m., the sound of gunfire erupted, leaving three people wounded. Responding to a report of a shooting, officers from the Metropolitan Police Department discovered a chaotic scene. Among the victims was 25-year-old Malik Mahdi Hill, a resident of the District.
