On a late Friday evening in Washington, D.C., the life of Jontae Donald Gilliam was tragically cut short. The 39-year-old male was in the 600 block of Morton Street, Northwest, on June 28, 2024, when gunfire erupted at approximately 11:06 p.m. Responding to the scene, officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Fourth District discovered Gilliam unconscious and not breathing, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
