On Tuesday, December 26, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred in Northeast Washington, D.C., resulting in the death of 19-year-old Ronald Crews.

The incident began when officers from the Fifth District of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to a report of gunshots in the 2600 block of Benning Road, Northeast, at approximately 6:55 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found evidence of a shooting but did not locate any victims at the scene.
