In the early evening hours of Saturday, August 7, 2021, a grim discovery was made in the 200 block of 49th Street, Southeast in Washington, D.C. Authorities were called to the scene at approximately 6:17 p.m., where they found 69-year-old James Clayton Beckham, a male resident of Suitland, Maryland, unresponsive inside a vehicle. He was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
