On the evening of Thursday, April 27, 2023, the life of 60-year-old Anthony Eric Petty came to a violent end in the 2600 block of 12th Place, Southeast, in Washington, D.C. Around 9:42 p.m., Seventh District officers responded to a call about a person down and discovered Petty with a fatal gunshot wound. Emergency medical services arrived at the scene but found no signs of life. Petty, a male with no fixed address, was pronounced dead at the scene.
