On a summer night in Washington, D.C., a life was tragically cut short, leaving behind a family and a community with more questions than answers. It was on Monday, July 14, 2003, at approximately 11:30 p.m., that Maurice “Moe Dob” Dobson, a 41-year-old African-American male, was fatally shot. The incident unfolded in the unit block of Atlantic Street, Southeast, where Dobson resided.
