In the late hours of a Sunday evening in Washington, D.C., a 28-year-old man named James Lamont Stewart became a victim of fatal gun violence. On January 6, 2019, at approximately 10:54 p.m., the sound of gunshots pierced the night in the 800 block of Varnum Street, Northwest.
