On October 23, 2021, 23-year-old Juwan Michael Smith was fatally shot at a BP gas station located on the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue, SE, in Washington, DC. The incident occurred around 8:13 p.m. when Smith was approached by 24-year-old Javon Duckwilder.
