On January 1, 2019, Shamar Marbury, aged 19, was tragically shot and killed in the 4200 block of Barnaby Road, SE, Washington, D.C. The incident occurred at approximately 8:43 pm. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene after receiving reports of gunfire and found Marbury suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
