Chase Lorenzo Poole, a 15-year-old from Northwest Washington, D.C., was tragically shot and killed on June 19, 2022, during a Juneteenth celebration near 14th and U Street Northwest. The event, known as "Moechella," was an unpermitted gathering organized by the group "Long Live Go-Go." The celebration turned chaotic when gunfire erupted around 8 p.m., resulting in the death of Poole and injuries to three others, including a police officer.
