In the early morning hours of a summer Friday in Washington, D.C., the life of Kenneth Jenkins, a 29-year-old man, was tragically cut short. On August 13, 2021, at approximately 5:18 a.m., the sound of gunshots pierced the quiet of the 3200 block of G Street in the Southeast quadrant of the city. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Sixth District were dispatched to the scene to investigate the reports of gunfire.
