In the spring of 2023, the life of a young man was tragically cut short in a burst of violence that shook a Washington, D.C. school community. Seventeen-year-old Jefferson Luna-Perez, a male student of Hispanic descent, was fatally shot on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 17, 2023.
