Metropolitan Police Department's Fifth District arrived to find a grim scene. Jeremiah Law, a male, was discovered unconscious and not breathing, lying on the ground outside the restaurant. He was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Investigators later determined that he had been shot inside the Denny's and had managed to run out before collapsing.
