On January 25, 2021, Edward Wade, Jr., a 22-year-old college student from Washington, D.C., was tragically killed in a shooting at a market in Southeast D.C. Edward, who was about to graduate from Virginia Union University, had stopped at the store to pick up food while his mother waited outside.
