In the early evening of Sunday, July 21, 2024, the residential calm of the 1200 block of Oak Drive, Southeast in Washington, D.C. was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Metropolitan Police Department officers were flagged down near the Sycamore and Oak shopping center at approximately 5:43 p.m. regarding a shooting.
