In the early morning hours of Monday, July 29, 2024, a burst of gunfire shattered the pre-dawn stillness in a Northeast Washington, D.C. neighborhood. When officers from the Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the 3500 block of Ames Street, Northeast, around 2:46 a.m., they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
