On July 29, 2022, Jeffrey Oxner, a 49-year-old resident of Southwest, Washington, DC, was fatally shot in the 900 block of Valley Avenue, Southeast. The incident occurred around 3:04 PM when officers from the Seventh District responded to reports of gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered Oxner suffering from a gunshot wound.
