In the early morning hours of December 22, 2012, a burst of gunfire shattered the predawn stillness in the 1100 block of Bladensburg Road in Northeast Washington, D.C. When the echoes faded, 44-year-old Raymond Harris, a male resident of Northwest D.C., was found inside a vehicle, having sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The attack also claimed the life of 69-year-old Nathaniel Beasley, Jr. of Southeast D.C., who was with Harris in the vehicle and succumbed to his injuries the following day.
