On November 24, 2004, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Umar Saunders was shot and killed in the rear of 4477 B Street, SE, in Washington, D.C. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Saunders succumbed to his injuries before medical intervention could save him. The Metropolitan Police Department launched an investigation into this homicide, which has remained unsolved to date.
