On a winter evening in Washington, D.C., 34-year-old Darnell Antonio Mayfield, a male resident of Southeast, was fatally shot. The incident occurred on Monday, December 28, 2015, at approximately 5:35 p.m. in the 2300 block of Hartford Street, SE. Police responded to reports of a shooting and found Mayfield suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
