In the autumn of 2015, the life of 42-year-old Norman Joaquin was cut short by gunfire in Southeast Washington, D.C. On the evening of Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at approximately 9:28 p.m., police responded to the 1900 block of Q Street, SE, where they discovered Joaquin suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
