In the autumn of 2015, the life of 42-year-old Norman Joaquin was cut short by gunfire in Southeast Washington, D.C. On the evening of Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at approximately 9:28 p.m., police responded to the 1900 block of Q Street, SE, where they discovered Joaquin suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the male victim's death began immediately, with detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch taking
the lead. Authorities sought the public's help in identifying a person of interest. A possible suspect was described as a Black male in his early twenties with shoulder-length dreadlocks, who was seen wearing all dark clothing at the time of the incident.
In the wake of the shooting, the Metropolitan Police Department offered a substantial reward of up to $25,000 for any information that would lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Norman Joaquin's death. Despite the ongoing investigation and the offered reward, no arrests have been publicly announced in connection with the homicide. The case remains under investigation as authorities continue to seek answers and justice for the killing of Norman Joaquin.
