Matthew Sumpter, a 19-year-old resident of Manhattan, New York, tragically lost his life on July 26, 2021, as a result of a drive-by shooting. The incident occurred around 9:47 p.m. near the corner of West 141st Street and 8th Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found Sumpter with a gunshot wound to his torso. He was immediately transported to NYC Health & Hospitals/Harlem, where he succumbed to his injuries.
