In the early morning hours of June 6, 2021, a senseless act of violence cut short the life of 29-year-old Akeem White in the Kips Bay neighborhood of Manhattan. At approximately 4:22 a.m., police responded to a 911 call reporting a person shot opposite 330 East 26th Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered White unconscious and unresponsive, suffering from a gunshot wound to his head. He was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was pronounced dead.
