Brandon Atkinson, a 20-year-old resident of Manhattan, NY, tragically lost his life on May 15, 2022. He was fatally shot in the head on Avenue D at E. 3rd St. around 11:15 p.m. that night. First responders found him lying unconscious in the crosswalk, and despite being rushed to Bellevue Hospital, he could not be saved. Atkinson's death was one of several violent incidents that occurred in Manhattan that night, highlighting a surge in gun violence in the area.
