In the late hours of a February night in Washington, D.C., the sound of gunfire pierced the air, forever altering the course of one man's life. On Monday, February 27, 2017, police responded to a shooting on the unit block of Hanover Place in the Northwest quadrant of the city. There, they discovered 31-year-old James Mace III suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
