In the late hours of a summer evening, tragedy struck in Northeast Washington, D.C., forever altering the lives of two families. On July 16, 2001, at approximately 10:25 p.m., 18-year-old Myron Morgan Jr. was in an alley alongside #8 Evarts St., NE, when he was fatally shot. The male teenager was not alone in his final moments; another young man, Melvin Turner Jr., was also killed in the same incident, making it a double homicide.
