In the early morning hours of May 26, 1988, a fatal encounter unfolded in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Albert Lewis Lufsey, a 37-year-old Caucasian male from Alexandria, Virginia, was with a female companion in the 2000 block of O Street, NW, when they were approached by two men at approximately 1:00 a.m. The interaction turned violent when one of the men shot Lufsey in the chest.
