In the late afternoon of Monday, January 30, 2023, Michael Gaddis, a 36-year-old man, was shot and killed in the 500 block of Somerset Place, Northwest, Washington, D.C. At approximately 2:56 p.m., officers from the Fourth District of the Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered Gaddis suffering from a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
