In the early hours of a Saturday morning, the sounds of gunshots shattered the peace in the Parkside-Mayfair neighborhood of Northeast Washington, D.C. Responding to the alert at approximately 12:23 a.m. on May 22, 2021, Metropolitan Police Department officers arrived at the 3600 block of Jay Street NE, near the Paradise at Parkside Community Center. There, they discovered a man lying unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds.
