In the summer of 2023, a violent outburst in Southeast Washington, D.C. claimed the life of 34-year-old Reginald Gilbert. On the evening of August 5th, Gilbert was present in the 1600 block of Good Hope Road, Southeast, when gunfire erupted. The chaotic scene left a total of five people shot.
