where deputies responded to distressing calls. One reported an unconscious male lying in a driveway, while another urgently stated that someone had been shot at the same location. Upon their arrival, law enforcement discovered Jovani Miranda, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. The grim discovery launched an immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding the young man's death.
Investigators quickly identified 18-year-old Dallton Hunt, a resident of Oklahoma, as a suspect. When deputies went to Hunt's home to question him, he reportedly surrendered with his hands up. Hunt was taken into custody on April 13, 2025, and subsequently charged with capital murder. In his account to the authorities, Hunt claimed he acted in self-defense during a physical altercation with Miranda.
