In the fall of 2016, a night of socializing in Northeast Washington, D.C. took a fatal turn, ending the life of 36-year-old Timothy Lassiter. On the evening of Wednesday, October 5, 2016, Lassiter was in the Fort Lincoln neighborhood, in the 3100 block of Berry Road NE, where he was spending time and drinking with others, including Marco F. Williams and Barry J. Giles. At some point during the evening, Williams and Giles made a decision to shoot and kill Lassiter.
