On July 24, 2018, Paul Williams Jr., a 46-year-old resident of Southeast Washington, D.C., was fatally shot in the 800 block of R Street, Northwest. At approximately 8:16 p.m., officers from the Third District responded to reports of gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, they found Williams suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment, but despite all lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
