In the spring of 2022, a burst of gunfire shattered the evening calm in a Southeast Washington, D.C. neighborhood, leaving a community shaken and a family grieving the loss of David Christian Spencer Jr. On the night of Thursday, May 19, at approximately 9:26 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the 1500 block of V Street, Southeast.
