In the early moments of a Friday morning, the sounds of gunfire shattered the pre-dawn stillness in Northwest Washington, D.C. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the 5000 block of Georgia Avenue NW shortly after midnight on May 6, 2022, following reports of the shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
