Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the 5000 block of Georgia Avenue NW shortly after midnight on May 6, 2022, following reports of the shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was identified as 48-year-old David Boyd, a resident of Northwest D.C.
Emergency medical services transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment. Despite all life-saving efforts, David Boyd succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
