Isaac Aull Jr. was a 30-year-old Black man from Northeast Washington, D.C., whose ordinary Friday afternoon ended in sudden violence on June 11, 2021. That day, shortly after one o'clock, the quiet blocks just south of Rhode Island Avenue NE were broken by the crack of gunfire. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the 1600 block of Franklin Street NE after reports of shots fired.
