On June 18, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in the 2700 block of Langston Place, Southeast, Washington, D.C., resulting in the deaths of two young individuals, including 17-year-old Kevin Mason.

Kevin Mason and his 15-year-old first cousin, Demarcos Pinckney, were shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in front of the building where they lived.
