In the spring of 2013, a young man named Robert Jacob Todd vanished from Auburn, Washington, leaving behind a community filled with concern and unanswered questions. At 20 years old, Robert was last seen on April 11, 2013. On that day, he had spoken with friends who lived in the Lakeland Hills area, about five miles away from his location on Auburn Way South. He told them he was going to walk to their house. It was believed that to shorten his journey, Robert intended to take one of the several wooded trails in the area. He never arrived at his destination, and after four days with no contact, he was reported missing on April 15. Robert is described as a white male, standing about 6 feet tall and weighing around 180 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. When he was last seen, he was wearing a blue T-shirt, shorts layered over "skinny jeans," and a pair of distinctive blue Nike shoes adorned with a bright orange "swoosh." He also had pierced ears with gauges. His plan to navigate the local trails, possibly near Dogwood/Forest Ridge Drive or along the White River Trail, became a focal point for those trying to find him. The hope was that someone might have seen him along these paths. In the days and weeks that followed Robert's disappearance, search efforts were launched to locate him. The Auburn Police Department, with assistance from King County Search and Rescue and the King County Guardian One helicopter, scoured the wooded areas along the White River trail, but their extensive searches yielded no signs of the missing 20-year-old. Law enforcement and Robert's family and friends appealed to the public for any information that could lead to his whereabouts. Despite these efforts, Robert's case grew cold, leaving a painful void for those who knew and loved him. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain a mystery, a story without a resolution that began with a simple plan to walk to a friend's house.
