In the pre-dawn hours of a Thursday in Washington, D.C., a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of a Southeast neighborhood. On September 12, 2024, at approximately 3:10 a.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of gunshots in the 300 block of Parkland Place, Southeast. Their arrival led to the grim discovery of an unconscious adult male.
