On April 5, 2019, Edwin Richardson, age 49, was tragically stabbed to death in the early hours on the 2900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE, in Washington, D.C. The incident occurred around 12:28 a.m., and when officers arrived at the scene, Richardson was found with severe stab wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
