On the evening of March 22, 1999, a burst of gunfire shattered the night in the 4800 block of Alabama Avenue SE in Washington, D.C. Inside a Chevrolet Tahoe, 29-year-old Edward Gray Jr. and his fiancé were suddenly under attack. The hail of bullets tragically claimed Gray's life, while his fiancé miraculously escaped unharmed. The shooting was a case of mistaken identity, a fatal consequence of a violent feud between rival crews in the area.
